While DEI - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - has started to become more prominent in workplace cultures, one topic that is often left out of conversations is accessibility. As of 2020, 61 million Americans live with a disability, therefore, Perkins Access believes that accessibility needs to be better integrated into organizational conversations about DEI in the workplace. To do so, Perkins offers three suggestions to businesses to achieve better accessibility for employees: 1) educating employees and integrating accessibility conversations into workplace culture, 2) upgrade spaces and experiences to be more inclusive of accessibility needs, and 3) ensure that digital content created can be accessed by a wide range of audiences.
