In this conversation, Harvard student interviewers are joined by Laverne Cox, celebrated actress and transgender woman of color, who discusses her life and career as an actress and producer. Cox shares, "As a trans woman of color, I've looked for my story in the media and I haven't seen it, or I've seen sensationalized, exploitative images of trans women of color, where they've been victims of crime." As an advocate and actress, Cox has received several awards for her courage, tenacity, pioneering spirit and acting, including The Courage Award from the Anti-Violence Project.
