This report represents a living and evolving agenda for a feminist COVID-19 response and recovery plan based on the findings of the Hawai'i State Commission on the Status of Women. Rather than rush to rebuild the status quo of inequality, the report encourages a deep structural transition to an economy that patently values care-giving, and addresses the crises in healthcare, social, ecologic, and economic policies that COVID-19 exacerbated. In order to protect the most vulnerable populations, the report suggests integrating the knowledge developed by marginalized communities that will help us prioritize greater social well-being as key to rebuilding a sustainable economy. The report seeks to be a model for other COVID-19 recovery plans around the United States and the greater global community by focusing on the intersection of race, socioeconomic status, tourism, healthcare, and gender.
